if you are
studying to be quiet...you don't listen to gossip...you don't stir up
strife...you do not pick apart every little thing that is said to you...
also do not take to heart everything people say...(Ecc.7:21)...
Don't pick the words apart...if they hurt don't dwell on them or if they
are untrue...forgive...as God commands...when you are at your wits end...
call upon the Lord...in your trouble...in your hurt...He will hear and
deliver you...David found this to be true(Psalm 107:27; 28)...We are not
to dwell on the shortcomings of others...we are to cling to what is good...
When you are studying to be quiet...think on these things..."Whatever things
are true, noble, just,lovely, whatever things are of a good
report."(Phil.4:8;9)...if we follow this course we assured peace..."The work of
righteousness is peace and the effect of righteousness is quietness and
assurance forever."(Is.32:17)..."The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
it is good that one should hope and wait quietly."(Lam.3:25; 26)...Jesus has
given us a peace beyond understanding...cultivate this peace...He cannot fail
you...for He is our peace...In Him we are builded together for a habitation of
God through the Spirit (Ephes.2:22)..."My people will dwell in a peaceful
habitation."...(Is.32:18)...God promises..."Come unto Me, all ye who labor and
are heavy laden, I will give you rest".(Matt.11:28)...Promises like these
should send waves of peace flooding your souls...quiet assurance from our
loving Lord..."A gentle and quiet spirit is very precious in the sight of God".
