Today is Monday...

this is what I tell my mind when it tries to take me to far into a problem...Proverbs 27:1 says, "Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth"...Matthew 6:34 states,"Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself... Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof..."......In refusing to go any further than today...we will have today open up for us in a way never before possible...Today is Monday...it's a new day...We have a tendency to look for happiness tomorrow...This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)...Like in other ways if we remove the tendency to look for happiness tomorrow we are able to see more clearly... the things we have to be thankful for today...the roof over our heads... the warmth of our beds...the food in our stomachs...the love we share with others... the laughter we share with others...friends...knowing that today God has us in the palm of His hand brings joy...We might not know literally...the lions den... or the fiery furnace...but we can be at peace knowing that our God goes through our trials with us...Today is all we have to look at... and we too can know that He is with us...right now...Today...Praise the name of our Lord Jesus...Everywhere you look they are touting...tomorrow you will be happy...the today's go...the tomorrow's become today's...and happiness seems to evade us...this philosophy is not wrought by God...it is not one that we as Christians should follow...Today is the day the Lord has made...let us rejoice and be glad in it...Today...Jesus said in John10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy: I am come that they may have life and that may have it more abundantly..."... If today is stolen from us...we lose...there is today to live...today to enjoy... today to praise our Savior for...We have today...Amen
