STRYKER- Edith E. Phillips 90, formerly of Stryker, died Tuesday July 11 1989 at the home of her daughter in Ligonier Ind. Mrs. Phillips was the widow of Asher “Burt” Phillips. The daughter of Olive M. (Dietsch) andOliver S. Criswell, she was born July 21 1898 in Baltimore Ohio. An employee at the Holabird Co. and the Ohio Art co. before her retirement, Mrs. Phillips was a former member of the Mothers of World War II and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Surviving are four sons, Kermit M., Max W., both of Bryan, Ohio, Throlow of Soul Korea, and Roger L. of Bryan; three daughters, Mrs. Letha Barber o Bryan, Mrs. Harold (Olive Jane) Swank of Ligonier, Ind. And Mrs. Paul (Vanda) Lautermilch of Hicksville;a brother Douglas Criswell of Denver, Colo; A sister, Mrs. Dora Brown ofTiffin; 46 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, who died in 1967 ason John, three brothers; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 PM Friday in the chapel of the Oberlin & Ford Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Bushsteiner officiating.Burial will be in Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral homeanytime after 4 pm, Thursday when the family will receive friends from4 to 9 pm Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor’s choice.
