William Van Buskirk, 78, practically a life-long resident of Bowling Gr een, passed away Sunday evening at seven o'clock in Center Township. Alt hough he had been ill for five years, he had only become seriously so re cently and had been bedfast for five weeks. His death was due to his adv anced age and a complication of diseases.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter Josie Picard, at No. 425 East Wooster Street. Rev. A. S. Bierly will officiate and burial will be made in Oak Grove Ce metery.
William Van Buskirk was born on the first day of the year, 1852 in Sene ca County to John and Liza Van Buskirk. When a youth he came to Bowling Gr een with his parents and had lived here all the rest of his life. When y ounger he farmed in and around the city. On October 16, 1874 he was unit ed in marriage with Martha Beaupry. Six children were born to this union , two daughter and a son preceeding their father to death. Their mother also died twelve years a go.
Mr Van Buskirk had a wide circle of friends among the older residents o f Bowling Green. He was a good and kind man and was very well liked by al l of the many people who knew him.
He is survived by three children; Mrs Josie Picard and Mrs Louella Fair child, both of Bowling Green, and Willie Van Buskirk, of Cleveland; ten grandc hildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves a brother and two s isters, Charles Van Buskirk and Mrs Lyza Stillwell, both of Toledo, and Mrs Ella Wolf, who lives in Indiana.
