 General Notes:
In 1854 he started a machine shop at Geneva, Ohio. In 1870 moved to Cle veland, Ohio where he went as Superintendent of the Variety Works of tha city. In 1874 he moved his family out on a farm at Parma, Ohio in order to regain his health and in1878 moved back to Cleveland, where he remai ned two years. In 1880 he moved to Lansing Michigan where he started a m achine shop under the name of P. F. Olds and Son, his partner being his son, W. S. Olds. Later the younger son, R. E. Olds bought out the intere st of W. S. Olds, and five years later bought out the interest of his fa ther. P. F. Olds retired from active business in 1890.
